Older and Wiser is a resource to provide the community with
basic information regarding all aspects of elder law, including, but not
limited to:
- Options available for those in need of care, whether
long term care in a skilled nursing facility or at home care;
- Asset protection and preservation for those in need of
care;
- Medicaid (Title XIX) Eligibility;
- Conservatorships and Powers of Attorney for assistance
in managing one's affairs;
- Upcoming changes in estate tax laws.
Airing on the show will be local experts in various areas
such as long term care insurance, reverse mortgages and home care.
Host Bio
Donna is a partner with Whitman Breed Abbot & Morgan
LLC. She joined the Firm in their Trusts and Estates Department in September,
2007. Donna, who grew up in Greenwich, has practiced law in Greenwich
since 1986. Her practice is focused in the areas of residential real estate,
including financing and purchase and sale transactions; estate planning
and administration, including preparation of wills, powers of attorney
and living wills, and the representation of fiduciaries in the administration
of estates and trusts before the Connecticut Probate Courts; and elder
law, including long term care planning, qualification for Title XIX (Medicaid)
benefits and issues of incapacity.
Donna received the American Jurisprudence Award for Negotiations
while at Pace University School of Law .
